Shortlands Golf Club win this event for the 4th year running!
This Jack Hicks Trophy is possibly the most coveted among the Kent 9-hole golf clubs as the format lends itself to that of the Ryder Cup. Four foursome matches in the morning followed by eight singles in the afternoon. A real team event with the final being played at Sidcup Golf Club.
This year we met Hythe Golf Club in the final. The morning foursomes were shared and Shortlands started the afternoon needing to win 5 of the singles or 4 and any half from the remaining 4 matches. Our team captain Kevin Cooper, once again stepped up to lead the team home with Shortlands winning all but 1 of the 8 singles matches. The matches were all played in good spirits and we thank Hythe for their sportsmanship and generosity.
Many thanks to Sidcup Golf Club for hosting the event. The course was in great shape with the greens running true. Thanks also to our club captain Barry Neil who sponsored the team shirts and to him and all our other members who turned out to cheer us on.
